CoPaw Privacy Policy

1. Overview

CoPaw ("we", "our", "the app") is a dog care companion app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Data We Collect

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

• Dog profiles: Name, breed, weight, birthday, allergies, activity level, behavior traits
• Activity logs: Walks, meals, water, medicine, training sessions
• Health records: Vaccines, vet visits, examinations, symptoms, medicines
• Documents: Photos, certificates, and notes you attach to dog profiles
• Reminders and schedules: Notification preferences you configure
• Weekly summaries: Aggregated activity statistics
• App preferences: Language, selected dog, onboarding state

This data is stored locally using UserDefaults and is not transmitted to external servers unless you enable family sharing features.

Apple Sign In

When you sign in with Apple, we receive only the information Apple provides: a unique user identifier, and optionally your name and email (only on first sign-in). We store your user identifier securely in the iOS Keychain.

Apple HealthKit

With your permission, we read and write workout data to Apple Health to sync your dog walks. We access only workout data types and do not read any other health data. HealthKit data is never shared with third parties or used for advertising.

CoreMotion (Pedometer)

With your permission, we use CoreMotion to track steps and distance during walks. This data is only used in real-time during active walks and stored locally as part of walk event records.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect analytics or usage data
• We do not use third-party tracking or advertising SDKs
• We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties
• We do not access your contacts, photos (except when you explicitly attach them), or location

4. Family Sharing

If you use family sharing features, your dog profiles and activity data may be synced with our backend server to enable sharing with family members. This data is encrypted in transit and associated with your anonymous user identifier.

5. In-App Purchases

Subscription purchases are processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not collect or store your payment information. Subscription status is verified through Apple's StoreKit framework.

6. Push Notifications

Notifications are scheduled locally on your device for reminders you configure. We do not use remote push notification services.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All your data is stored locally on your device. You can delete all data by:

• Using "Delete All Data" in Settings (permanently removes all data including dog profiles, health records, activity history, and authentication credentials)
• Signing out from Settings (clears synced data)
• Deleting individual dogs, events, or health records within the app
• Uninstalling the app (removes all local data)

The "Delete All Data" option provides a complete reset: it removes all UserDefaults data, clears Keychain credentials, and returns the app to its initial state.

8. Children's Privacy

CoPaw is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes through the app.
